A Roman aqueduct that’s over 2,000 years old and one of the best-preserved in the world. Great for a half-day trip, with hiking trails, river views nearby, and a scenic casual lunch spot overlooking it all

We strongly recommend you, especially if you have kids to spend an afternoon there, enjoy some kayaking, organize a cute picnic ! ☀️

Avignon
(25 mins drive)

1. Palais des Papes

One of the largest Gothic buildings in Europe and the former home of the pope in the 14th century. Whether you’re into history or architecture, this place is impressive and definitely worth visiting. Make sure to stop there, get a drink or coffee and enjoy the view!

2. Pont d’Avignon

You’ve probably heard the song “Sur le Pont d’Avignon.” 🎶

This is the bridge it’s talking about. It’s partially in ruins now, but still offers great views of the Rhône River and Avignon’s skyline.

3. Rocher des Doms

A peaceful park on a hill overlooking the city, perfect for taking in panoramic views of Avignon and its surrounding. A great spot to relax!

4. Place de l’Horloge

The heart of Avignon’s social scene, full of cafés, restaurants, and historic buildings. Perfect for a casual stroll or grabbing a drink to soak in the local atmosphere.

5. Musée Calvet

For those interested in art and history, this museum has a strong collection of fine art, sculptures, and historical pieces.

6. Marché des Halles

A vibrant covered market, offering a feast for the senses with local produce, Provençal specialties, and the lively buzz of a true French marketplace. Don’t forget to stop by the Spice stand, try a “Fougasse aux olives” & “Pissaladière”.


Châteauneuf-du-Pape

If you’re a wine lover, this is a must. The region is world-renowned for its vineyards. It’s from here we had our first memorable bottle as a couple - dare we say fate? We tried bunch of different vineyards in the area, here are our favorites:


Les Baux-de-Provence
(25-minute drive)

Absolute must-do if you happen to spend some time around Avignon. A medieval village perched on a rocky hill with stunning views. The village itself is beautiful, and while you’re there, get some candy and black truffles to bring back with you. 

Make sure to wander around and taste and/or buy all local favorites: soaps, truffle, pastries (…)

Head to the top and enjoy the gorgeous view!
